B&B Berenice si trova in un'ottima posizione proprio nella zona storico archeologica di S.Antioco. E' possibile visitare andando a piedi le aree archeologiche-etnografiche del tophet, museo archeologico, villaggio ipogeo, forte sabaudo e musei etnografici che si trovano a poche centinaia di metri.

L'isola di Sant'Antioco si trova a sud-ovest della Sardegna ed è unita all'isola madre da un istmo artificiale lungo circa 3 Km. Con una superficie di circa 108 kmq, S.Antioco è la più grande delle isole minori della Sardegna ed è la seconda in Italia dopo l'isola d'Elba. E' un'isola ricchissima di natura incontaminata, con delle coste bellissime dove il turista puo' scegliere a seconda del vento predominante i luoghi più riparati, spiagge o scogliere piatte. Ma il fiore all'occhiello dell'isola è la sua storia millenaria: si contano moltissimi nuraghi; colonia fenicia fondata nell' VIII sec. a.C. divenne poi a partire dal V sec. dominio punico. Sede di municipium romano si schiero' durante la guerra civile dalla parte di Pompeo. Il paese è raggiungibile dalla strada statale 130 che da Cagliari conduce a S.Antioco attraverso Villamassargia e Carbonia, S.Antioco è subito visibile dall'istmo e nelle giornate più belle spicca nelle sue acque cristalline, quindi passando accanto al ponte romano si arriva al centro abitato transitando su un ponte moderno. Nell'isola oltre al principale centro di S. Antioco, che conta una popolazione di 12.000 abitanti, esiste il paese di Calasetta, colonia genovese fondata nel 1773, ed altri insediamenti minori per lo più centri a carattere balneare (Maladroxia e Cussorgia).

The Bed & Breakfast Berenice is conveniently situated in the middle of the historical-archaeological part of Sant'Antioco, in an outstanding position, only a few steps away from the historical Basilica Sant'Antioco of the Martyr, which already in the 6th. Century became the seat of the Dioceses. The Basilica was erected on the early Punic tombs, which later became Christian Catacombs, that can also be visited today. By foot one easily reaches the ethnographic archaeological excavation places of the Tophet, the archaeological museum, a historical Punic Phoenician village, the Sabaudo, and ethnographic museums, which are only a few hundred meters away.

The island of Sant'Antioco is situated southeast of Sardinia and is connected with the mother island by means of an artificial Isthmus approx. 3 km long. With her surface of approx.. 108 square kilometres the island is the largest among the “small islands” of Sardinia, second only to the island of Elba in Italy. The island is particularly rich of uncontaminated nature and beautiful coasts, amongst which the visitor, depending upon the prevailing wind direction, can select the most protected beaches, bays or rock coasts. But the real treat of the island is its thousands of years old historical heritage: there are numerous "Nuraghi”; founded as Phoenician colony in the 8th. Century B.C. , at the beginning of the 5th. century it became part of the Punic realm. Being the seat of the “Municipium Romanum” during the civil war it fought on the side of Pompeius. The small town can be reached by car on the highway 130, which, departing from Cagliari, leads across Villamassarga and Carbonia to Sant'Antioco. On particularly beautiful days already from the Isthmus Sant'Antioco can be seen reflected in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. Passing by the old Roman bridge one crosses the modern bridge and thus arrives at the centre of the small town. Beside the main centre of the island Sant'Antioco, with its approx. 12,000 inhabitants, there is the small town of Calasetta, founded as colony by the citizens of Genoa in 1773, and some smaller settlements, mainly bathing resorts (Maladroxia and Cussorgia).

Das Bed & Breakfast Berenice ist in einer hervorragenden Position, mitten im historisch-archäologischen Teil von Sant’Antioco gelegen. Nur wenige Schritte entfernt liegt die uralte Basilica Sant’Antioco des Märtyrers, schon im VI. Jahrhundert Sitz der Diözese, die über den zunächst punischen Gewölben, später christlichen Katakomben errichtet wurde, die heute auch zu besichtigen sind. Die völkerkundlichen archäologischen Ausgrabungsstätten des Tophet erreicht man zu Fuß, ebenso wie das Archäologische Museum, ein historisches punisch-phönizisches Dorf, das Fort Sabaudo und ethnographische Museen, die nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt liegen.

Die Insel von Sant’Antioco liegt südöstlich von Sardinien und ist mit der Mutterinsel über einen ca. 3 km langen künstlichen Isthmus verbunden. Mit ihrer Fläche von ca. 108 qkm ist sie die größte von den ‚kleinen Inseln’ Sardiniens, nach Elba die zweitgrößte Italiens. Die Insel ist besonders reich an unberührter Natur und verfügt über wunderschöne Küsten, bei denen der Besucher, je nach vorherrschender Windrichtung, die geschütztesten Strände, Buchten oder Felsküsten auswählen kann. Aber das Sahnehäubchen der Insel ist seine jahrtausende alte Geschichte: es gibt zahlreiche ‚Nuraghi; als Phönizische Kolonie im VIII. Jahrhundert a.D. gegründet, wurde sie Anfang des V. Jahrhunderts Teil des Punischen Reiches. Als Sitz des ‚Municipium Romanum’ schlug sie sich während des Bürgerkrieges auf die Seite von Pompeius. Das Städtchen ist über die Staatsstraße 130 erreichbar, die von Cagliari über Villamassarga und Carbonia nach Sant’Antioco führt. Vom Isthmus aus sieht man dann schon Sant’Antioco, das sich an besonders schönen Tagen in den kristallenen Gewässern der Lagune widerspiegelt. An der alten römischen Brücke vorbei überquert man die moderne Brücke und gelangt so ins Zentrum des Städtchens. Neben dem Hauptzentrum Sant’Antioco, das ca. 12.000 Einwohner zählt, gibt es auf der Insel noch das Städtchen Calasetta, eine 1773 von Genuesern gegründete Kolonie, und weitere kleinere Siedlungen, hauptsächlich Badeorte (Maladroxia und Cussorgia).
